Back to Poatina Golf Day
The Poatina Golf Club is inviting the community to join them for a back to Poatina Golf Day to help celebrate Hydro Tasmania's Centenary. An old Hydro village which was built in the late 1950's to house the workforce working on the Great lake Scheme and the construction of the Poatina Power Station, which was commissioned in 1966.
The golf course itself was started by local volunteers; officially opened in 1970 by the commissioner of the HEC, it quickly became the social hub of the community.
